Bio

I graduated from Pacific Union College (a small liberal arts college in the Napa Valley in California) in 1997 with a B.S. in Physical Education, where I played on the college basketball, volleyball, and golf teams. I also started my coaching career while a junior at Pacific Union College. I coached girl's volleyball and boy's JV basketball at the prep school on the college campus.

After graduation, I moved to Bakersfied, CA, and taught high school English for one year. From Bakersfield, I moved to Loma Linda, CA and worked at Loma Linda Academy where I taught elementary and high school P.E. classes along with a high school health class. While at Loma Linda I coached the boy's volleyball teams for two years and worked with the boy's JV and varsity basketball teams. During my time in Southern California, where I was born and raised, I also had a short stint at Glendale Academy. I served as the athletic director and boy's P.E teacher. I also coached the boy's volleyball team while at Glendale.

Upon leaving Glendale, I returned to my alma mater and worked as a volunteer assistant coach with the Pacific Union College men's basketball team for one season. After a brief two-year hiatus I returned again to PUC to serve as the head women's basketball coach and sports information director from 2002-2007. In 2005 I took over the as the athletic director as well and in 2007 I made the transition from the women's basketball team over to the men's program where I still currently serve.

I live in Angwin, CA, with my wife April. We have two children, a daughter Maya (5) and a son Ashton (3).

About My Team

Pacific Union College competes in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Within the NAIA we are a member of the California Pacific Conference (Cal Pac) made up of other small colleges/universities in Northern California. As a non-scholarship school we have taken great strides in closing the gap to be more competitive within the Cal Pac conference. The men's basketball team has qualified for the conference tournament three of the last four years. The team qualified in 2009 in dramatic fashion by hitting a half-court shot as time expired in overtime, in their final regular season game against conference powerhouse Holy Names University, to secure a playoff spot.
